Located in the Vale dos Vinhedos in southern Brazil, it is owned by the Plínio Pizzato family. Plínio is the grandson of Antonio Pizzato, an Italian immigrant who came to Bento Gonçalves in 1875 from the Veneto region, bringing with him a proud winegrowing tradition. With a solid experience in grape growing, the family established the winery in 1999 with the objective of making world-class wines created exclusively from their own vineyards.    Vineyard & Climate The family owns 45 hectares divided across 2 vineyards located in 2 areas, both within the Serra Gaúcha region: Santa Lúcia vineyard in Vale dos Vinhedos - the first geographical indication in Brazil, and Dr Fausto de Castro vineyard in the Dois Lajeados region. Serra Gaúcha area has a humid, temperate climate with mild evenings, which creates perfect conditions for cultivating grapes with strong character. The Dr Fausto de Castro vineyard is located at 480 m altitude, planted on silty clay soil. Santa Lúcia vineyard is located at 495 m altitude on clay soil. Both vineyards are hand harvested. The family uses traditional methods and modern technology to create wines with well-defined personalities.    PIZZATO, Brazil Fausto Brut NV Traditional Method The wine displays aromas of citrus fruits, white peach, green apple and light yeasty notes.
